Range day:

I’ve been shooting as long as I can remember. I come from several generations of gun collectors and avid shooters. My grandfather had many guns and a beautiful collection from World War II which several of those firearms have been passed down to me. I met my husband on a blind date and we were married six months later. On our honeymoon there was a skeet shooting competition off the back of the cruise ship, and that’s when he learned that I had some experience under my belt after taking 1st place. Just a couple of years later my husband became a Huntington Beach police officer in which he often had to qualify at the range. I always enjoyed tagging along as I found shooting to be fun and challenging! As the kids got older and my husband began traveling I started taking some private training and eventually got my CCW. Several of my girlfriends were interested in obtaining their CCW as well so I helped them through the process and eventually begin a ladies gun club, Belle Stars. Eventually I got my basic pistol and basic rifle certificates. Shortly there after I became an NRA certified firearms instructor. I continued to run my gun club for quite some time slowly taking on one student here and there. During quarantine in 2020 we were considered “essential“ and I worked day and night with new shooters. It was at that time I met my partner Joseph!  As my business begin to grow, and my students became more proficient I needed to further my own training. Eventually I started taking some tactical training courses, and I’ve even got a few competitions under my belt now which I really enjoy, and that is definitely something I will continue to pursue. I love waking up every day knowing I’m going to help someone learn a life-saving skill and have fun doing it!

Ernie is a Marine Corps officer, Marksmanship Instructor trainer and expert in rifle, pistol, certified concealed carry for high-risk personnel, holds a Marine Corp martial arts 1st degree black belt, and remains a 6th degree master level instructor in karate (Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan).Today, he is one of the most trusted firearms experts and trainers in Orange County, California due to his vast experience in the field, personalized training strategies and consummate professionalism. His highly-skilled training and extensive credentials allow him to train other instructors, which means he’s able to teach even the most efficient marksman how to be superior weapons experts.

My name is Joseph. I’m 28 years old and came in to Firearms during quarantine in spring 2020. I decided to purchase my first handgun and obtain my CCW. I was able to do so without any formal training but practiced almost daily refining my accuracy and proficiency. It was at that time I realized the importance and responsibility of furthering my skills and safety for concealment. I originally had a couple of private lessons with my partner Gina, and then begin taking private and group lessons from as many instructors as I could. I dry fire almost daily and get as much weekly trigger time as possible! Gina invited me to RSO for an outdoor course in July 2020 and we were a perfect match. As our business took off and our friendship grew we realized we had something special covering different ethnicities and genders and bridging the age gap. I have since then gotten various pistol and rifle certifications including my NRA Instructor credentials and even ranked toward the top of competitive shooting matches. I feel lucky that I get to wake up every day doing what I love as a firearms instructor!
